A Primary School in Sentema, Uganda

We are a secular primary school that teaches the Ugandan curriculum using the most effective active-learning methods, backed by the latest international research, with small class sizes and a strong emphasis on continually developing our teachers’ skills and knowledge. Most of our learners receive full or partial bursaries based on need, in a region where access to quality education would otherwise be out of reach.

We are proud to be an eco-school with an on-site farm, where learners follow the Ugandan curriculum while also gaining hands-on experience in regenerative agriculture.

While the school is open to girls and boys from all faiths, beliefs and backgrounds, its name is derived from the parable of the Mustardseed:

β€œHe told them another parable: the kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”

Matthew 13:31-21

If you plant even the smallest of seeds in fertile ground, it can grow into a mature tree that will provide a home for the birds of the air to make their nests and raise their young. We envisage a world in which people have learnt to live in creative harmony with the natural environment.

Our mission is to provide an inspirational and practical education to the young children in our care, encouraging them to flourish and prosper in Uganda and in the wider world.
